Eurociudad del Guadiana presents its project to coordinate Cross-Border Spatial Planning to the Junta de Andalucía and CCDR Algarve

On 16 June, the technical team of the Eurocity of Guadiana shared with the Andalusian Regional Government and the Regional Development Coordination Commission of the Algarve the objectives of the piloto Resilient Borders experience financed by the European Union to promote coordination tools for territorial planning in the municipalities of Ayamonte, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, located in both regions.

On behalf of the Junta de Andalucía, the delegate of the Government in the province of Huelva, José Manuel Correa, and the territorial delegate of Development and Territorial Articulation, Jaime Pérez, were present. At the meeting with the Portuguese authorities, Maria de Lurdes Carvalho, Director of the Regional Planning and Development Unit, was accompanied by the heads of service and technical managers of the Algarve.
At both meetings, the objectives of the piloto experiment were presented, the initial progress of the work was made and the authorities responsible for spatial planning were heard in order to determine the lines of work and the options for the success of the experiment. The contributions were very interesting.
