The Eurocity of Guadiana shares experiences with the Euroregions of the north of the Iberian Peninsula

In the framework of the European initiative Resilient Borders - Resilient BordersThe Eurocity of Guadiana has held working meetings with the Euroregions Galicia-North Portugal and New Aquitaine-Euskadi-Navarre.

The aim of these meetings was to learn first-hand about their piloto experiences in cross-border spatial planning and to explore ways of collaboration that could be applied to the Guadiana territory.

During the exchange, the three European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) agreed on the need to move towards stable models of cooperationIt was also highlighted the importance of ensuring replicability of actions and optimising available resources. Eurociudad del Guadiana is actively involved in a territorial planning and coordination project that seeks to improve access to services, promote joint infrastructures and foster cross-border integration. The studies and reports resulting from this process will be submitted to the European Commission in September.
